Riverbed's Virtual Steelhead at VMWorld

Vmworld_banner
VMWorld is currently underway this week in San Francisco with the theme "Virtual Roads.  Actual Clouds.".  The buzz of leveraging virtualization to build private clouds is resonating with the jam-packed exhibition and break out session areas.

Riverbed is exhibiting (booth #536) and is demonstrating its recently-announced Virtual Steelhead. Built for the VMware vSphere(tm) Platform, the Virtual Steelhead offers customers greater flexibility to deploy Riverbed WAN optimization technology in a wider range of environments that have specialized needs and require resilience and customization, while still offering simplified management.

In addition, EMC will be demonstrating Riverbed's Virtual Steelhead during a session tomorrow titled "Shrinking RTO/RPO’s of VM Replication using WAN Optimization".

Great work Riverbed, very impressive. I was a bit surprised by EMC because our company just had a meeting with them several weeks ago and they recommended Silver Peak, which is just confusing on EMC's part.
